Meet the maker

Romina Natalia is the founder and artist behind pottery for the poles. A Glenorchy based potter and advocate for environmental protection, in particular for the polar regions. Her work combines art and exploration in the hope to promote a sense of responsibility to those who travel and an educational platform to those who don’t.

Each set or piece of ceramic ware has a story to tell, from polar exploration to the deep fiords and forests embedded within the South Island of New Zealand. Romina sets out to bridge the gap in knowledge of the least understood places through art and storytelling.

MEANS & MATTERS

“The explorer has an unwritten responsibility to bring back something for the better good from ones venture, the gift of enriching our understanding of planet earth perhaps? But here lies a predicament: upon finding paradise, should its secrets remain kept to those who find it? It is not an easy choice, but when such a place of beauty has been found, we become responsible, in many ways, for its future.”

Have a special piece in mind? Lets talk.

My commission portfolio is a celebration of the collaborations I’ve had with beautiful people and their vision - big or small - and trusted me to bring it to life.

From custom mugs marking a milestone, to ceremonial vessels for rituals and weddings, to sculptural centrepieces that tell a story, each piece begins with a conversation and ends with a piece truly unique to you.
